Medical Lasers
IPL
We offer laser and light therapy techniques to help with some of the cosmetically distressing facial bumps and brown or red spots on the face and body. The Starlux Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) can fade many brown patches (“age” or “liver spots”) on the hands, arms, legs and face. Many of these spots will fade dramatically with one or two treatment sessions.
Rosacea (“adult acne”) may be associated with flushing,
blushing, pimples and dilated blood vessels on the face and around the nose.
Some of the symptoms of rosacea are resistant to oral and topical prescription
therapies.
Angiomas (“red moles”) are small little red bumps that often
occur on the trunk, arms and legs. They are of no medical consequence, but can
be annoying cosmetically.
Hair there and everywhere! If you have a problem with unwanted
dark hair on the face, underarms, bikini areas, chest, back or legs, we have just the thing! Our IPL
will permanently reduce the thickness and growth of most dark hair. Be aware that light colored hair is not amenable to treatment with laser. However there is a prescription cream that may be helpful with lighter hair. Be sure to talk to Dr. Hawk about this.
Smooth Beam
Sebaceous hyperplasia (dilated or “plugged” oil glands) are common on the faces of patients with increased oil in their skin. Most of these will shrink or even leave with a single treatment with the Smooth Beam laser (1450).
Payment is expected at time of treatment. Insurance companies are not involved with reimbursement of laser or any of the cosmetic treatments described on this website.
